    Hello there,

I was wondering if there's a virus scan or a malware scan for Mac? I'm thinking my issue may be that my Mac is infected - not sure, let's hope not! But for some weird reason, I'll be on a page that would require Java for it to function properly and Safari redirects me to a blank page or a page with an ad that says adserver.adtechus.com in the URL.

However, if I use Google Chrome on the same website it does not happen. Is there a vulnerability in Safari and this why it is happening? And is there a way to stop it from redirecting?

    Thank you in advance!:D

Look in Safari prefs for any new extensions that you don't recall installing and remove them. Then run this adware scanner. It does sound like you have some adware running on there.

Intego's Virus Barrier is very thorough and works well. Look on the Intego website. While you are there, also look at their blog since they always have interesting and useful articles.

I tried ClamxAV, and it did not find anything. thanks though!

Just checked my Safari prefs, nothing there out of the ordinary. I will try the scanner and keep you posted!
