Safari causing Sonoma to freeze?

Anyone else having an issue with Safari causing a complete freeze on Sonoma? The mouse pointer is still moving but all other functions can not be used. The only solution is to hold the power button to shut down. Has happened about three times now.

Yup—but the OS will freeze again 1–2 minutes after restart. On an M1 MacBook Air. Also happens in safe mode.
