I lose my “favorites” icons from time to time with this new iOS 13. Don’t understand it. For a few minutes or even a few hours if I go between websites using my icons, then return to the Favorites screen, I will lose all the icons websites that I have saved, showing a blank screen with only the word “favorite” for one reason or another. Other times it works just fine but I believe it might be a bug

While I do appreciate MR taking the time to provide this info, IOS 13 is still in Beta. Until it is released, I pay no attention to these reports due to the potential for changes to still occur before IOS 13 is released.

The thing I hate about Safari (mac) is that scrolling tab thing. I don't want to have to side scroll to find my tab. If they just copied this aspect of Chrome I would love using safari on mac/ios.

Hopefully there will be options for the Start page to turn off Frequently Visited and Suggestions, leaving more room for what I want: Favourites.

Frequently Visited is only my Favourites in uncertain positions. A useless feature only valuable for anyone else who sees my screen to know what I look at.

Under website viewing, they need an option to prevent text from rendering under the notch in landscape mode.

Great Apple thanks.
Now for the love of god improve the damn macOS version!!
Also, lots of privacy smoke but where's the built-in adblocker many free browsers been putting out years ago. Even the paid extensions at your store are as subpar as they can be.

I wish apple would add independent volume controls (Android style) so one can move the volume of the notifications to a certain level, the phone and phone calls to another, You Tube (or all media) to something else and the keyboard clicks too.
This one volume thing is so...90 and super cumbersome. There should be a volume center where you can go in and slide the volume for each independent thing. Once again, think Android.

Surely when they (if they) ever implement this they will act like it's the coolest thing ever as if they invented the thing.
Like what they're doing with dark mode.
Also while they're ad it add haptic (taptic) feedback in the keyboard too.

Safari is my favourite browser.

Tapping the top takes you to the top of the web page. How do you get to the bottom of the web page; 1 tap to go right to the bottom.

Add the loading bar again. I love knowing that a page is loading. I hate seeing nothing. I'm sure one problem is that JavaScript loads most everything after the page now. I really don't like the "modern" web. PS. I'm old. And loved blogging in 93. :)

I don’t like the new start page and share sheet. Phone screens gets bigger and bigger but the number of icons and buttons onscreen gets smaller and smaller. Mediocre UI and use of screen space.

Woa, more features than what I actually thought! Honestly iOS 13 is a beefy release feature-wise.

By the way, Dan, Juli, or any other user, can you tell me if some (or even all) of this features are available for MacOS Catalina? I find super useful the feature of typing an URL and the system reminding you that you already have a tab open for that website, and I would like to know if that's available for Catalina. Thank you!!

Do you use a content blocker? I had that same issue when trying to visit twitter on my iPhone Safari webpage, and I was able to load Twitter again once I disabled my content blocker for that website.
Yeah I do use a content blocker. Disabling it worked. But why does desktop Twitter look as bad as the mobile site now? Yikes!

Oh fun! Once again, Apple takes a one tap action (reader view) and makes it 2 taps. Fixing the stuff that isn’t broken, and leaving the broken stuff as is (text select, I’m looking at you).

You can also long-press to open reader view. Not quite as convenient as before, but overall I prefer the many new options in the menu.

I started watching the video and then realized the phone in the demo had a virus. All the iOS 12 and 13 favorites in the safari new tab screen were Facebook and Google and Twitter. Time to quarantine that device.

Siri Suggestions will also surface relevant websites in your browsing history along with frequently visited sites, links sent to you in the Messages app, and more.
I wish all these companies wouldn't be so obsessed with recording and mining my computer usage.

They should add notifications for websites. If somebody quotes me for example on macrumors, it would push notify me (if I choose so). Chrome has it for ages, and it removes the necessity to install junk apps for push notifications.

There are a few websites that I would rather not be in Siri’s suggestions no matter how often I visit them....

You can under the Safari settings in the Settings "App". Its gonna be under "Siri and Search"

So, Settings -> Safari ->Siri and Search

If you don’t want Siri suggestions showing up on the Safari start page and you switch it off in the settings app, does this mean the other Siri & search features (for Safari) are also disabled?

I also want Safari to launch the native apps when you press a link to it. right now it usually takes you to the website for the app and you have to go through a lot of work arounds to see what you intended to see in the App itself.

How do you open Twitter URLs in Safari? The mobile URL doesn’t work and that’s what Twitter redirects to. Previously if you long held the URL you got an option to open via the app but that doesn’t exist anymore. When you long press you get a peek of the website but no option to open in app.
