Safari open, flashes to bookmarks, and crashes. Restarted and reinstalled to no avail. Anyone else having this problem?

    Safari Download Manager. Uninstall it.

If you don't have that, post your entire packages list in Cydia. Then install Crash Reporter with the syslog and post the log here if I need it.

    Fixed mine!

I had the same exact problems: Safari and app store crashes on launch.

Fix: I had My3G installed from cyida, removed it and now its fixed.

May or may not work for you, just adding my experience to the thread,

    Cheers,

    -Andy

    Thanks!

I was having the exact same problem, so I am very glad you all had this conversation. I can confirm that I also had My3G installed, and once I uninstalled it, the problem was corrected.

FIX: Uninstall My3G (doesn't seem to be compatible with iOS 5.0+, but I could be wrong)

I have My3G installed and it works perfect for me as well on a 4S. Are you guys with the issues using the paid version or possibly an older, incompatible, hacked version?

Just a note: DHowett is working on an update to Safari Download Manager that will give it 5.0 compatibility. Did you all not read the description which says that it only works on 4.x?

    App Store crashes

    Hello,

I just restored/rejailbroke my iPhone 4S using the latest absinthe jailbreak but the App Store keeps crashing on me. I do not have My3G installed and my Safari works fine. The only issue is the app store. I installed Crash report but it does not list any Primary suspect for the crashes.

Here are excerpts from my Crash log.

Do you have Appstore located on the springboard or somewhere else?

No I do not. Also, if I go into Settings > App Store and click on my apple ID, then click 'view apple id' settings also crashes as well.

Sorry... yes, the App Store is showing on my homescreen. Yes, I've tried to reboot. At this point I think there must be a broken tweak or repo but I have yet to find out which one it is. I even deleted MiWi 5.0 figuring it had the same issue as My3G.

    Worked for me...

I have a jailbroken iphone 4 with a tethered setup.

Safari and a few other things began crashing, but I think it's because I let the battery die out on my tethered jailbroken phone

    Anyway:

I opened "redsn0w_win_0.9.15b3" which i initially used to jailbreak my iphone to os6. When I first jailbroke, I had to use this same process.

I selected "extras" and then "manually specify an ipsw".

You have to find and download the software version that works for this jailbreak. For me it was "iPhone3,1_6.0_10A403_Restore" Download it and save it.

    Anyway...locate and select this file.

This should make your phone reboot with the old OS

Then in redsnow, I selected "just boot" and followed instructions.

    once rebooted, everything worked fine.

DISCLAIMER: Not a tech guy, first time giving advice. Just spent too many hours searching and trying overly difficult solutions to simple problems...hopefully didn't mess anyone up and this helps. If not, apologies.

    This is the key !

    The paid app works fine.
    The "others" don't !
