Anyone noticed this? It loads pages faster than ever before, it really is noticeable.
I really noticed this on my iPad. Big improvement. Very happy with the performance.
I just installed iOS 6 beta 3 on my iPad 3 and although I haven't really played with it much, I don't see much change.
I installed iOS 6 on my iPhone and iPad today and I was shocked by the speed increase!! I thought I might be imagining it because I hadn't read about t but it is defiantly faster!! Prob the best improvement in iOS 6....
That's great to hear. But can you open more than 8 pages?
Looks like 24 now on an iPad
still 8 on iPhone 4
There is an update. To GM version. Get that.
Yep sorry I was 1st on iPad still 8 on a 4S too.
iPhone 4 - No change in performance. Chrome seems on par.
On my iPad 3 it seems to be a little slower and I get a lot of crashes! Did you guys restored from backup or did a clean installation?
Best to do a clean install then restore from back up or iCloud.
It definitely feels snappier.
I definitely agree that Safari is quicker on iOS 6.
Another change I have seen, which speeds up the navigation process, is that when you open up a new page / tab, it now opens right next to the page you are currently viewing rather than at the end of the stack.
So, if you are viewing page 2 of 5, for example, the new page will open in slot 3 moving the others along by one.
Hope that makes sense, because I feel like I'm doing a very bad job of explaining what should be a simple concept.
Much faster. I wish the tabs were bigger on the iPad though. Hard to hit the X button at times.
Ahhh I see what you did there OP!
Safari just keeps getting quicker and quicker...
I've had a couple of times where Safari would suddenly be unresponsive and I had to close it since going to the GM of ios 6.
You waited until the software went final to install some old beta???
I don't notice any speed difference, about the same.
Anyone run some Sunspider, browsermark, or Peacekeeper?
