I can not get google to be the default search engine. I have google marked as the default search engine in preferences. Yahoo search engine keeps coming up. I have deleted the safari plist file in the library under preferences. I have restarted safari and the computer multiple times and yahoo is still the search engine being used. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Have you tried resetting Safari?

Yes, twice. It says google search in the url field and when you type in something to search it searches and brings up yahoo as the search engine, not google.
Thanks.

Same problem, can't fix!

I am experiencing the exact same problem with Safari defaulting to Yahoo. I have tried multiple "fixes", including disabling the extensions. I have reset Safari, made sure my defaults in preferences are Google, cleared my history, etc... . I would REALLY, really appreciate some advice!

Some adware can hijack the default search engine like that. Try running this adware scanner and see if it finds anything.
