I don't know if this is an iOS issue, a hardware issue or just a fluke, but my Safari app just randomly disappeared off my ipad mini today. It was not in any folders or anything it was actually gone. Not in my list of apps, not found with the search function. I had to do a restore of my settings and it came back. But, what is the deal with a native app disappearing off my device? Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Did you try to launch it using a web link on another app, like clicking a link on an email?

Would have been interesting to see if Safari was really gone or it was just the icon missing.

And if it was really "gone", then you should have installed Chrome and see if IOS 6 would change the "default" web browser to the only one installed on the device or if it was programmed to only use Safari as the default even if it wasn't installed and there were other browsers available.

Either way, you would have had a superior browser on your iPad Mini, which is Chrome.
