I’ve been facing this problem for weeks. I get that it isn’t exactly a straightforward solution however maybe someone might have some input.
There is nothing in the download folder. I’ve deleted the cache and website data. I’ve waited for weeks and it hasn’t resolved. It isn’t exactly an inconvenience since there is plenty of extra space available, but still not pleasant and preferably would like it fixed.

Any solutions would be appreciated.

Did you ever find a solution? I had a failed download yet it took 3 gbs and I can’t find the temp file to delete. It’s been like 3 weeks and it hasn’t resolved itself

Maybe a backup to iTunes (or iCloud or whatever on macOS 10.15+) and restore would fix it. Those typically don't include temporary files. Or maybe a restart, temp files are suppose to be cleared out upon shutdown.

I wish there was an easier way other than wiping the whole thing every time there’s a glitch or whatever this is
