When I try to send mail on Safari, I get error message -39: end of file reached, mail could not be sent.
What do I need to do?
I am not a techie - do I need one to sort this out?

Safari error -39

I am on UKPLC.net - but that's working okay. I can send emails if I log on to webmail. Its on Safari where I am having the problem.

I'm confused, do you not log onto your email service using Safari?

Could you post a screenshot of the error that you are talking about?

Yes, I am using Safari on my Mac to send and receive emails.

Simple question:
Have you tried shutting down, and then restarting the Mac?

Sorry buddy, I'm not sure how to fix that. I'm still not quite clear as how you are sending email. If you are using a service like gmail, shouldn't the error pop-up inside the service itself?

Anyways, hopefully someone else can shed some light on this for you. Best of luck.

correction

I'm sorry - its not Safari, its Entourage that's causing the problem. Shows you how little I know...

Entourage has been replaced by Outlook...

Ah... I have upgraded to latest OS version - that would explain it.
So that presumably means buying Outlook?
I suppose I couldn't just revert to previous OS?

Sure, that's always an option. You need to redownload mavericks from the app store and create a usb install disk with it. Can't just launch the installer since OS X doesn't let you downgrade that easily.

Entourage -> Outlook

Looks like I'll have to move from Entourage to Outlook 2011...
What are pros and cons of subscribing to Office 365 @ £79.99 pa rather than just buying Outlook for £129?
And bearing in mind I don't have a clue about this stuff, should I attempt the change-over myself or get an expert to do it?
