Safari gone slow

Good day to all.
Regarding the safari slight problem.Since the latest update od Catalina safari has gone slow to open.
Before the update I could click the mouse on the safari in the dock and within two/three second and safari is open full screen
now since the update it can take three times the time to open.
what I'm doing now when I finish using safari I just select the red dot top left on screen.Would that be a good idea but in the evening I do select the quit safari option.Any help please.

When I first set up my MBA with Catalina, Safari was a mess. It did not work properly, I could not open a live chat, I could not follow a link from my email.

All I did was shut down the computer and boot it back up, and it all worked beautifully after that. Right now no issues at all, speed or otherwise.

Many thanks. May I ask how long does it take for safari to open fully once you have clicked on the icon in the dock?

Safari shows up instantly, then the page loads for maybe a 1 second, or less than 2 seconds. Definitely nothing to worry about on my end, hoping you have similar results.

I've noticed Safari is taking longer to load on Catalina. No other app has been affected.
