Safari Google toolbar error

My fiancé was on my Mac and somehow managed to delete the google search from my toolbar. I followed the standard instructions by going to VIEW - Customize toolbar and dragging the search field to the top. It even gives me the plus sign when I drag it. For some reason, when I hit DONE it does not appear? Any ideas?

Try View - Show Toolbar. Perhaps it's just hidden and not deleted?
