Guys, I need your help and advice please. My Safari on my iPhone 12 Pro running the latest firmware has become super slow when loading pages. MacRumors for example takes approximately 15 seconds to load! Until yesterday it was super snappy. I tried on my wife's phone and her 10 is super quick. I then went through the pain staking process of resetting my phone from

I'm running a 500mb broadband speed. I cleared all History and Cache. Switched it off and on again. Toggled the Wi-Fi and still no luck.

Hey Robert, good point. It's all apps. And I've noticed even when navigating the settings there's quite a delay. For example, clicking settings / general/ software update - there's a delay in the last step from general to software update.

My iPad 8th gen (oldest base iPad for iPadOS 26) is significantly slower than it was on iPadOS 18. It feels like there's lots of input lag on everything.

Thanks cowherd. Thing is, everything was absolutely fine up until I did the latest FW update. Then all of a sudden my browsing window crashed and it's been all down hill since.

I've done 3 full resets and tempted to do one more.

I've noticed that Safari just gets stuck when I do a search. For example, I can be cruising around, going from page to page and when I pull up the address bar and do a search (google is my preferred engine), it just hangs. I have to close out of Safari to start working again. It's not frequent. Just odd. I do have NordVPN installed, but it's not enabled unless I do it manually. I also have adguard, but the DNS protection options aren't turned on.

May I suggest installing the just-released third developer beta of 26.4 if you're comfortable with the implications/risks of betas? Safari seems notably faster to me in 26.4

Thanks Lads for the help.

@iLuddite after 3 days of constant trying and goodness knows how many full reinstalls, I think I have sorted it. I done a full reset on my Mac and it almost all seems to be working quick again. S0ds law though they release the new update today, which might have fixed it 🤦‍♂️ But on a positive, at least I'll have a clean install now.

One thing though is a mystery - my kid was calling me on the way back from school but only their number appeared and not their contact. It seems for some reason their contact just will not sync from Mac to iPhone. I've fixed this by deleting the old contact and reentering, but very strange. And I'm worried if there are going to be any more that have not synced 🤔

Update guys:

I'm a sucker for punishment, so after I sorted out the issue, out of curiosity I updated to the beta again.... And it all slowed down again! So, I think it's safe to say, the beta was the issue for me.

I'm going to back up my phone now and then try the new beta when the public version is released.

An iPhone 12 is five years old now. What is your battery health? If it’s below 85% you may see a performance degradation as iOS slows-down the CPU to maximize battery life. If it’s below 75% you will get a significant performance hit. (Note: these %’s are just my guess based on my own observations of my own iPhones; IDK if Apple makes threshold numbers official.)

Thanks mate. Battery is at 77% but on this occasion the slowness was down to the last beta FW. Now that I've returned to normal FW all is as quick as quick can get. I might not go to beta now.
