Safari Help

My safari application will not stay in my dock. I have tried the stay in dock button but as soon as I quit it stays there for about a minute then it disappears. I'm not sure what is making it do this.
Can anyone help?

move it to another position when its open or right click on its dock icon while open and choose "keep in dock".

*edit* I take that back. It's seeming to work. We'll see after a day if it stays. Thanks so much for your help.
