    Hi guys,

I have a big problem. I accidentally removed my web history in Safari and I wonder if I can get it back even though I don't have any time machine backup. I'm a beginner on mac and recently bought a macbook pro and starting to learn, so I don't even seem to find the history.plist file that is needed. I follow the directions but I can't seem to find anything. Is it possible that it's gone or removed?

    Please help.

    Thanks in advance

Do you happen to iCloud Safari sync turned on?

If you do, that will overwrite the plist you restored. Try turning off iCloud Safari sync then restore the plist and you should be able to see the history.

    Thank you for your reply.

I don't have Icloud backup either. I think I'm doing something wrong, because I don't even find the files. I don't even know if it's possible to recover history when it's deleted?

Could you provide the path to the file you're looking for?

Are you sure you didn't misinterpret the "~"? Usually, in a Unix path, "~" represents the home folder. In my case, "~" means /Users/andrew/". It could be that you looked in "/Library" instead of "~/Library/". Is this the case?
