Safari: How to access bookmarks?

Ok, so the new UI is pretty (useless, nice, different, hard to pick the right word…), but how do I get the bookmarks?

FYI you can change the tab layout from “Compact” to “Bottom” or “Top” for Safari within the Settings app.

Bookmarks bar does not work for me on iPad. I have them set as clickable text under the search bubble, but it’s not working when I press any of my bookmarks. anyone else experience similar behaviour?
