So I still have my old MacBook Air 2017 running vanilla Monterey. Meaning I have not added anything or restored data or linked to iCloud. It's mostly used for guest access. Logged on to my instagram account and while watching "reels", after 2 or 3, the page will reload. Doesn't happen in Firefox or my iMac M3 Sonoma or my wife MBA M2 Sonoma. Just Safari Monterey. Anyone else tried this and see if IG Reels reloads when watching them?

I haven't personally had this issue (the oldest Mac I have access to is running Ventura), but since you're still using Monterey, Safari isn't getting any of the newer updates, meaning it's going to become less compatible with various websites as time goes on.

Firefox should still get updates for at least a few more years since it has better support for older systems, but things are just going to get worse on Safari.

Yeah, I bet you're right that Safari is getting long in the tooth along with Monterey and some sites will start to break. At least Firefox is still being updated with Monterey and doesn't crash. Although it really ramps up the cpu on that old MBA 2017. The fans are running high after a few minutes on IG or even YT watching vids.
