Safari Link Tabs

I was wondering on Safari, is there a way to set when you click on a link it will just open another tab instead of a new window? Thanks!

You can get SafariStand, and set it as a preference, so you don't have to press the apple key

although it would be a nice feature, i dont actually use safari as much as i use to, i use firefox now

If you enable tabbed browing, then pressing the link with middle mouse button (scroll wheel or scroll ball if you have a MightyMouse) opens it in a new tab.
