I am having the same probplem with my toolbar, it one day decided to disappear, but when I drag it it doesnt show up! I've done this about 20 times.

I'm having the same problem. All of a sudden, there's just a grey space where the URL bar was. None of the various methods to restore it work. None of the keyboard shortcuts work to restore it.

There's a grey space in the 'customise tool bar' box where you are supposed to drag the option back to the toolbar. And there's no option in Preferences/Advanced to show it - half the Advanced menu has disappeared.

Very weird, and apparently irretrievable, since Safari for Mac is no longer available to download from Apple.

MacBook Pro 15" Core i7 2.6Ghz running 10.8.5.

I would have suggested the action mentioned in post #10, but if you tried that and it didn't work...
Safari might not be available as a stand-alone download, but is the combo updater for your version of OSX still available? If so, reinstalling the OS will provide you with the version of Safari that you have, and a fresh start.

I have the same problem, but, I can see the toolbar when I'm opening some of web pages and it despairing from others.

Hmm. Don't know what happened to my post from yesterday...

If you can't right click on the window's menu bar area, and the menu command is unavailable, then I think it's time to delete com.apple.safari.plist

You'll find that by holding down Option and clicking the Go menu, selecting Library, then opening Preferences. Then Restart Safari and see if you still have the problem. Post your result here.

I logged in the next day after posting my comment and my address bar came back. I do not know what happened... why it disappeared in the first place, or why it reappeared days later.
