Resolved Safari no longer lets you open with specific website?

Safari now forces you to select between "All windows from last session" or "All non-private windows from last session."

All I want is for Safari to open with google.com or any other specific website. Why is this no longer possible? 😕

Change your homepage in Safari on Mac

In Safari on your Mac, change the webpage that appears when you open a new Safari window or tab.

In Safari on your Mac, change the webpage that appears when you open a new Safari window or tab.

That only works when the app is already open. When you open Safari from scratch (thus the "Safari opens with" setting in the screenshot), there's no option for using your homepage.

Ah, figured it out...

This option is shown only if “Close windows when quitting an app” is selected in the General pane of System Preferences.
