Safari's window and panes look great in dark mode. However, most websites have a white background and whenever I'm using other apps and come back to Safari it is massively jarring to say the least.

I know I can set a custom style sheet in prefs. Does anyone know a good style sheet to use?

Or am I missing some setting in Safari along the lines of "slightly darken bright colors"?

Now that I've used it a bit, I'm not happy with dark mode anyway. Many apps look shocking in it. Mail.app is particularly bad. Quite disappointed in it.

I'm on the fence whether I like dark mode. I find that i had to turn up the screen brightness to make reading text easier, and then it's way too bright when I open any app or web page with a bright versus dark background.

Does anyone have a custom sheet to invert background and text colors from website but not image to match more with dark mode? For now I'm on Chrome with the Deluminate extension. Maybe new extensions like this will appear for Safari soon due to the new Dark mode.

This extension is already available...

[doublepost=1537953283][/doublepost]You can also try a stylesheet. This site lets you generate some...

I found the unchanged font size and soft greys one is pretty good. However, it does mess up the layout of some components like dropdowns.

The stylesheet seems to have the advantage of being able to change the default loading background on Safari so when you are loading up a new site it no longer flashes bright white.

I just try it and websites like this forums is not very good looking. The best extension I found so far is Dark mode for safari. Its a $2,75 (CAD) paid app, but the rendering is way better. You can also make a whitelist for sites you don't want to revert. Its the closest thing I found to Deluminate for Chrome yet.

Thanks for this! Just what I was looking for. Even these forums hold up fairly well, and the exclusion list is great for those sites that don't.

No prob! Plus, you have a setting to automatically turning on and off depending if the whole system dark mode is enabled or not! Very good extension.
