Anyone else noticing this? Every time I open Safari and navigate a couple sites / tabs then close the browser... Then later reopening all of my tabs are gone. I'm right back to my start page. Resume feature in system settings is on...? Anyone with a clue on this?

I had this problem, too, and accidentally discovered the secret in a most unlikely place ...

Settings > General > Number of recent items (section) > put check in box by "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps."

Who would have thought the answer wouldn't be under Safari settings?

Are you closing or quitting safari? If you close the windows (red button), they don't reopen. You are basically telling Safari you don't want these windows anymore.

If you quit the app (cmd+q or right-click the icon and choose quit) with windows and tabs left open, they will reopen when you re-launch Safari.

Restoring windows applies to apps that are quit. Closing those same windows closes them permanently but keeps the app running.

Yes. Adnbek is right. When you close it totally, you lose your tabs. But, before I checked the above box, I would lose tabs even with a minimize closure.

Yes, that is it. Quitting and closing have different results. I found another feature though...if you click HISTORY in the menu it has an option to restore last closed window. That way you can disable resume apps in the General settings.
