Hello,

when i press the red X on safari, and reopen it, the tabs that i had open are all closed ? and safari starts from fresh ?

i thought it should leave all tabs open, ? and only start safari from scratch when i press the Safari>quit option ?

many thanks

No. Safari saves the state it was in when you quit and restores that the next time you launch it. If you close the window with your tabs then you don't have any windows open--Safari will open with a blank window. If you want to keep those tabs, just quit while the tabs are still open. They'll be restored the next time.
