I'm getting notifications in Safari from Youtube and other sites even though I explicitly set them to "Deny" in Safari notification settings. Anyone else seeing this?

I rarely use Safari on macOS, so let me be sure I'm understanding what settings you're referring to. You say you "explicitly set" YouTube, etc. to "deny" in Safari, but I don't see any such setting. All I see is which websites to allow notifications from (Safari > Settings > Websites > Notifications ("These websites have asked for permission to show alerts in Notification Center"). So are you saying, for example, YouTube is not in this list, yet you're still receiving notifications in Notification Center from YouTube.com?

Those Safari website notification settings including Deny are:

Ok, so I'd recommend the OP also check under System Settings > Notifications > and looked for YouTube.com (and the other problem sites) under Application Notifications

I know that it shouldn't be in that list if it's denied in Safari, but I'd look just to be sure.

Ok, I just tested this with enabling push notifications for MacRumors and it seems to all be working as intended. Perhaps just remove the website entirely from Safari's settings and then next time the website asks you to allow notifications, deny it at the pop up window and see if that fixes the issue.

i just started having this issue with dailmail.co.uk.

i went into my settings and i can see i have every setting for it on deny. in fact i don't have allow on any website. and it just started doing it today out of the blue. i usually avoid that website.

I'm having the same issue with YouTube and NewEgg.

Neither show up in the notification section of the settings app. I've never seen a notification for the other sites in this list.

I do allow notifications for the YouTube and NewEgg apps on my phone. Wondering if that is somehow overriding the settings on my Mac.
