Hi - Running El Cap and have checked for latest updates - nothing.

All other Apps open and run fine.

When I attempt to open Safari, I get my favorites pages with my most visited pages Icons, however, when I click on the Icon, it starts to load the page and then crashes....ie disappears and goes back to my wallpaper!!
Has been doing this for 3 days

I haven't another browser installed so cannot download an alternative(s)

Any ideas about what I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance if you can help me out.

    Cheers.

    Try the following:

    1. In Finder, press shift-command-G, enter "~/Library/Safari", and then press return.
    2. Select all of the items except for the file Bookmarks.plist.
    3. Press command-delete.

Thank you Richard for the reply.

I have followed your instructions as above, but still have the exact same problem.

Safari will open.......starts to load the page I choose and then crashes....disappears and reverts back to my wallpaper.

EDIT - I also get the colorful spinning wheel thing for around 3-5 seconds before the crash......If that helps at all??

EDIT:- Have also removed Cache.db and no change at all.

Firstly, install Chrome so you have a working web browser. To download Chrome, enter the following in Terminal:

    Code:
    cd ~/Downloads && curl -O# https://dl.google.com/chrome/mac/stable/GGRO/googlechrome.dmg
    Secondly, please do the following:

    1. In Finder, navigate to ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports.
    2. Upload the latest crash report for Safari or WebKit to Ge.tt.
    3. Include the address of the uploaded copy of the file in a reply to this post.

Hi Richard - thanks once again.

I have Chrome working on this Mac now which is great.
I have the latest crash report as per your instruction but am unsure how to "upload" a copy??
Can I copy and paste the file to here?

You can attach the file by dropping it onto the reply field, but you'll first have to add it to a Zip archive because this forum doesn't accept files with the extension "crash".
