Safari is noticeably faster and smoother than Chrome on OSX. I'd prefer Chrome because it has a lot of things that have to be shoehorned into Safari with addons, but I'll use Safari until Chrome gets it all together.

Of the three, Firefox has the worst font rendering. Text on it is noticeably blurrier than on Safari or Chrome. Safari and Chrome look about the same but Safari has slightly more contrast to the text.

This. :) The downside is that Google's Mac development efforts are a joke compared to what they lavish upon Windows, so we may be unable to recall what a browser is by the time Chrome leaves beta on OS X.

I prefer Safari, I'll tell you why. First, I think chrome is still a beta. The other reason, some sites (urls) only support IE. Well this isn't a problem with Safari, if you go to Preferences/Advanced and check Show Develop menu in menu bar. Once that is check, in the menu bar you can go to Develop / User Agent and select IE or any other browser to simulate. I used to use Firefox and Chrome and still done on occasions but Safari works best for me.

is it just me or is safari looking, behaving and running likes it just got really old?

(wannabe a safari lover - chrome is so much better, not by a mile but by a marathon)
