Safari popup message

    Im 99% certain this is a scam- malware type message. Ive had it appear once or twice when trying to access a known website for media. Have a look at the screen shot below.

    Once it appears on the screen you cant close the window except by quitting safari completely.
    Could my machine be infected with malware? If anyone knows what i should check to make sure im safe.

    100% scam generated by JavaScript on a website - do you really think Apple would create an alert that looked like it's a scam?

    and send security warnings from "storage.googleapis.com"

    Could be malware - do try the Malwarebytes app available in post #3

    I sent a feedback to Apple a few weeks ago regarding this problem. I hope they patch Safari to limit the max height of an alert or make the close button always visible.

    Thanks guys, i have now downloaded and done a malwarebytes scan as suggested. Scan was very quick and everything seems to be fine.

    That popup is prevalent on naughty sites
