I'm having the same problem with Hotmail....I can't send email.....now I have to find the original Safari....if I had to choose between sending emails or tabs....I'll choose email

what exactily dose Rendezvous do in safari? I have never seen anything in my bookmarks under Rendezvous?

You need to be on the same network as servers with Rendezvous enabled. Try turning on Web Sharing and then see what shows up.
