    I take it it’s beta related as happens across both devices.

    Seems to be a bug. I saw this many times since the first beta. But only rarely in the last weeks. I always used the Technology Preview. Maybe it's now better with that one and worth a try.

    You only need a developer account to download the Safari 11 betas for El Capitan and Sierra.
