Howdy,

I'm running Mac OS X (ver. 10.6.7) on an Intel MBP (2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo). On two occasions in the last week Safari has reclaiming its status as the default browser without my permission. I'll discover this when I open a link from a third party App and instead of it opening the browser that I manually set to default it will open Safari.*I am running Safari Version 5.0.5 (6533.21.1).

I am wondering three things: 1) Is anyone else experiencing this problem? 2) Is there a permanent solution? 3) Is this a potential vulnerability?

More Info?

Maybe I need to provide more info?

The times that this has happened has been after a full restart of my MBP. Also, the most recent time that this happened seemed to be in conjunction with the most recent security update. However, this was not the case in the past. I'm unable to reproduce the issue at this point.
