While using safari, sometimes I find something in a website that I want to search for. If I highlight the word(s) and use the "right click" menu, the search is done on the same tab. Is there any way to have the search in a new tab?

Hold down Command while you highlight the words you want to search for, and continue to hold it down while you right click and hit the "Search in Google" option. It can be a little clumsy at first, but it works okay. Just be sure that the first thing you do is whole down Command and don't let go of it until you've hit the search menu item.

It's odd that this works, but unlike most other places in the operating system, you can't hit the Apple key *after* you've made the menu, and the menu text doesn't change when you hold the Apple key down.
