Safari tabs

I use iGoogle as my homepage and I'm always clicking links, but lately it's been opening them in a new window. Is there a way to stop Safari from opening pages in a new window? I'd rather it just open in the same window or in a new tab. I've looked everywhere, but can't find any settings that can do this.

There's a Terminal Command that will force links to open in tabs in Safari. Here's the link,

If you don't want to mess with Terminal you can download SafariTabs. http://stuconnolly.com/projects/safaritabs/

Or you can just hold command while you click to open a link in a new tab.

If you're running Safari 4.0, that Terminal command won't work. The single window mode is broken in Safari 4.0.

I was running Safari 4.0, but tried to uninstall it due to it being extremely slow. It didn't uninstall for some reason.

SuperDocker has a feature that forces Safari to open pages in a new tab.
