Safari Virus Popup

Hi all,

I got maCOS Mojave 10.14.3

Two days ago it started doing weird thing; When I view the web page (any web page) it opens up another page some times the adds or some unwonted pages too. For instance, I was viewing my FB and all of a sadden second page opened itself and says your mac has virus. Can you advise what to do with it please.

You probably have some sort of malware you accidentally installed.

Install and run Malwarebytes on there and see if that kills it.

It's fake. It's just a pop-up web page to spoof you. Are you looking at naughty or questionable sites or the dark web?

I first thought the same thing, but OP mentioned it is also popping up on FB, so that makes me more think he installed some malware.

The Pop up is a scam. Do as Weaselboy recommended and you’ll be fine.
