i prefer to use chrome over safari but chrome hogs a ton of my battery. I'm wondering if safari uses less battery power than chrome. If it does I'll definitely switch to safari. Anybody know?

I'm pretty sure Safari does use less battery than Chrome on both Macs and iOS devices. I thought that was a known issue with Chrome and Firefox.

Safari anytime anyday, but i have chrome also and its suck its slow lots of bug i though it was the software but no way because i then opened safari and runs faster, for example today via chrome macrumors site was show only the top it wont show the entire page even i reloaded closed and reopened then open via safari it shows macrumors entire page.

I've been flip flopping between the two. Safari does get better battery life imo, but since I use Chrome on my Mac I like that I can access my bookmarks and tabs across both devices.

You can copy Chrome BM's to Safari then export to Safari on your iphone. That's what I did. Trying to get to one System. Except I need Gmail and it and iCal don't play well. So, using Sunrise with Gmail. :)

Safari for me, I wish I could get Safari on Android.

it plays every video i throw at it (unlike google) and it seems to handle web pages all around a whole lot better for me.

and I like how it handles tabs, homepage screen and toolbar/address hiding a whole lot better

Says the guy with the "think different" avatar that only several million other people have.

"Think different... just like everyone else."

"Sometimes a cigar (read: avatar) is just a cigar."

A fact is a universally accepted and/or proven piece of information. Common sense is "sound practical judgment that is independent of specialized knowledge, training, or the like."

One needs not think different [sic] when truth truth is staring him in the face.

Forgive me for not allowing the fox to guard the henhouse.

And I could do the same with a ***gasp*** google search too.... but why trust one corporation over another? They only exist to exploit you for money. If you are truly concerned about privacy I suggest you disconnect entirely.

*sigh* Really? You're really asking me why I ought to trust a computer software/hardware company which has developed technologies to protect users and who has a reputation for respecting user privacy over an advertising company whose products ARE its users? You're seriously comparing the two? Oh boy.

Here's an article for reference: Apple, Google, Microsoft: Where Does the Money Come From?

"According to its 2011 annual report, 'Advertising revenues made up 97 percent of our revenues in 2009 and 96 percent of our revenues in 2010 and 2011.'"

There's a difference between disconnecting entirely or connecting with open eyes and noggin' engaged.

Your fanboyism is showing so hard I half expect to find out you have a cardboard cutout of Steve Jobs in your bedroom.

Sadly, you went there. I hoped you wouldn't, but it was low-hanging fruit, and that's what is resorted to when naysayers have nothing productive or factual to cling to. It's the equivalent of "I know you are, but what am I," or the always-classic "I'm rubber you're glue." In fact, I would have preferred those, as they would have at least added some comic relief.

I've researched, supported, and explained, but all you can do is play the "fanboy" card? I'd report it for name-calling, but it's so sad that it's funny. Carry on then; facts-be-damned.
