Says the guy with the "think different" avatar that only several million other people have.

"Think different... just like everyone else."

So because it's now popular to think different, everyone should start thinking the same again and submit to the Google mothership? HAHA OKAY SomeGuyDude. I'll just stick with one of the few tech companies who not only doesn't give a crap about collecting my personal information, but is actively trying to prevent it from being stolen. You should seriously look into how Apple Pay, iMessages and new iOS 8 technologies like MAC Address Randomization work. Those are just three examples of how Apple is safeguarding our information from retailers, the government, and advertisers, respectively. One of the main reasons iAd hasn't taken off in a big way is that Apple refuses to hand over our data to the advertisers. But for many developers it's enough to make a good bit of money in free apps, which is the main reason Apple created it in the first place.

Sadly, you went there. I hoped you wouldn't, but it was low-hanging fruit, and that's what is resorted to when naysayers have nothing productive or factual to cling to. It's the equivalent of "I know you are, but what am I," or the always-classic "I'm rubber you're glue." In fact, I would have preferred those, as they would have at least added some comic relief.

I've researched, supported, and explained, but all you can do is play the "fanboy" card? I'd report it for name-calling, but it's so sad that it's funny. Carry on then; facts-be-damned.

News flash, my child. Apple has all your data. Everyone has your data. The government, your ISP, your telecom. Your data is not being protected by anyone. If you want to have little apples jammed in your eyes and think that the Mighty God Jobs is reaching down from the afterlife to protect you and your little iPhone, well... I suppose it's just going to hurt that much more when you find out how wrong you've been.

But no, carry on. Ignorance is bliss, as they say.

EDIT: To put it another way, just because Apple might not be giving it out freely to advertisers doesn't mean they don't have it. Your activity on your iPhone is not, by any stretch of the imagination, anonymous and hidden. If you're online, you can be watched and followed. Welcome to 2014.

Straw man. No substance.

If you can't see the difference between Apple having data and Google using it, I pity you.

*Yawn*

Your hollow arguments are weak and boring. I'm moving on. Enjoy your delirium.
