Perfectly done, Apple. Making the world more elegant... thank you!
You are one step ahead again .

It would be interesting for me to know what translation philosophy Apple uses. The approach of Deepl.com currently seems to be one of the best in the world. The translations of this European company can hardly be distinguished from the original text, they often master the complete idiomatic context. It's different with Bing or Google, they are good, but in comparison they are really bad. Today, many people speak immediately of AI, but this only makes sense in part.

(As mentioned, currently runs as beta exclusively on the iPhone.)

update: I just compared identical texts in all translation providers. Apple's beta is already very good, but still deviates a bit from the gold standard.

I'm not certain but it could be that it uses the same resources as the Translate.app

BTW, does macOS Big Sur include Translate.app?
No, they have activated a new translation engine.

Feel free to check something yourself instead of spreading opinions instead of facts (you are not a president).
The ability to transform questions into answers with the help of the brain is what distinguishes us from monkeys in many ways :).

Wow!

Perhaps English isn't your first language.

I said, "I'm not certain but it could be". Hardly "spreading [my] opinions" rather asking a question hoping somebody with a brain would add clarity. Sadly, you are not that person.

You’re right, “I’m not certain but it could be” is hardly an opinion. Like you rightly said, it could be a language barrier. Being a native English speaker myself, I’ve had uncountable experiences here in Germany where something I said was completely taken out of meaning and context. In most of these cases I take my time to explain the ‘real’ meaning of whatever I said, IF the person is willing to hear that (which is an entirely different matter on its own).
Cheers buddy!

I'm a native English speaker too, born and bred in the UK.

I lived for many years in Italy and have lived in Spain for the last 30 years.

I've worked as interpreter/translator in all three languages. Words are important and faithful translations are essential, hence my interest in this topic.

Without wishing to generalise many would agree that Germans are known for their arrogance, and their lack of a sense of humour, not to mention their false sense of superiority, so I won't mention the war 😉

Cheers mate!

I’m in Portugal and the option to translate is available in Safari. However it translates into Portuguese from Brazil and not Portuguese from actual Portugal... Not that this is a huge issue but there are a few differences in vocabulary and stuff which can be annoying.

Anyone know how to enable Safari desktop v14 with the translation feature? I have a US Apple ID. Thx.
