Hi,

I need a spare duck head adapter for Macbook charger as well as camera battery charger.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0723DLG1D/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_7X4oCbHHQWE5S

I looked at this and other similar ones on Amazon but several reviewers of each duck head adapter state these adapters can cause sparks when pluuged in. Since Apple doesn't sell these have you had any good experience with any particular brand of duck head adapters?

Thanks

Any metal object can cause "sparks" when plugged into an outlet when there's a difference of potential energy. These adapters are nothing more than plastic and two metal prongs which flip out and provide a path to the AC adapter for power and ground. So, any "sparks" is normal for connecting devices that draw current and you would have had this happen prior to using this adapter or any other electrical device. The reviews which claim "sparks" for this or any of these adapters are trolling for another product, just plain idiots, or a combination of both.

There aren't any electronics in these duck head adapters so any old cheap one should be fine. Sparks are normal when you plug in an Apple charger, even when you use the Apple long power cord or the duck head that comes with the chargers.
