Those new items had something to do with third-party flashlight apps being rumored to harvest/transmit personal data from Android phones to overseas developers.

Story debunked here. Stupid story got picked up by news outlets.

When I first saw "flashlight" I thought they were worried about phones catching on fire in pockets.
