Safe to leave on 24/7

Hi again all;

So the Mac Mini m1 is up and running and just thrilled with it

Haven't had a chance to test it's full potential yet with FCPX

My question is this and I know it may be a dumb one

Can I leave the Mac Mini m1 24/7?? I stream radio and work late nights and nice to have on when i come home

Been using and ancient PC this way and no issues

Other devices such as powered speakers also left on forever

Just wondering your thought on this as I do put in sleep mode when I come home until I get up

I almost never turn off my Macs, it is totally fine. Be careful that some version of macOS may have bugs that will force you to reboot your Mac to behave normal.

My computers don't even know they have an OFF button.

I have a late 2013 27" iMac that has been running in my basement as an iTunes movie & music server for almost 8 years now, 24/7/365, as well as serving as my main machine until around 2017. Still going strong. The external drives connected to it have been upgraded a couple of times over the years, but the iMac has never had a day of downtime since I bought it.

I've left my 2012 iMac on pretty much 24/7 and haven't had a problem.

Mac reboots are 10-12 seconds now. There is really no good reason to leave these machines running when not in use.

I rarely reboot. It just goes to sleep with Powernap backups etc.
I have stopped having the Battery status crowd the menu bar and just have it in the Control Center. I have stopped working about it!

They barely use any energy when not in use though so what is the good reason for not leaving them on?

All my Apple devices run 24/7/365, except for my iPhone (which I turn off at night). I've never had any issues doing this either. Like @Gnattu stated above, I will reboot if my system starts to act wonky, but that hasn't happened very often.

Well I am on my second mini, first was a 2009 and now a 2018. Both used as iTunes servers. I leave on 24/7 and let it sleep. Then why power up the AppleTV or screenshare from my back it wakes up.
the Mac mini attached to drobo so would also be switching that off and on as well so a bit more on the startup required.
perfectly safe to leave running.

It is best to leave on, in my opinion. There is really no need to turn it off each night.

Leaving them running removes the 10-12 second delays. What favorable effect does it have to turn them off?

I never turn it off, or reboot for that matter, unless there is an update which requires reboot. My Mini M1 and MBP M1 were up for 26 days (I guess) before updating today to 11.3.
