Safe to update to 4.1 and re-jailbreak?

Hey everyone!
Should I update my Jailbroken, unlocked, 3gs iphone from 4.0.1 to 4.1 and then jailbreak again with limera1n? what about the basebands and stuff, is 4.1 unlockable? Also, would updating take me to that activation screen in which you can't get to the home screen like when you restore?

from what It sounds like, you should just keep the phone the way it is IMO.

You need to do a lot of reading before you do anything. But to get you started, no, if you're unlocked now, you don't want to just update and re-jailbreak as you'll lose that unlock. And the new baseband you'll have with 4.1--IF you have the blobs to update to that firmware, which isn't being signed anymore--isn't unlockable. And limera1n isn't the right tool for the job on an software unlocked phone anyway.

There are ways to upgrade safely and keep your baseband. Do some research first.
