OS X Saitech X52 Pro Joystick with Mac?

I have received conflicting views as to the Saitech X52 Pro Joystick compatibility with my macbook pro for XPlane 10 Global purposes.

Is anyone using this joystick and if not what are the comparable alternatives please?

make sure you read the comments in those threads. They discuss several joysticks, some that work fine with OSX out of the box. Some don't work at all. And several will work on OSX except for some advanced functionalities (like extra buttons not working etc)
