The weekend of Aug 7-9, any computer purchase of $1500 or less is exempt from the 9.25% TN sales tax. I will definitely be buying one that weekend, so I'm looking for the best $1500 purchase for either a MBP or Imac. New or refurb doesn't matter.
The idea of the free Ipod Touch is nice, but if I had to choose, I would rather have a more robust machine and use my sales tax savings on the Ipod.
I will be using the machine mainly for photo editing and some light video editing, with the usual email, web, Itunes usage as well. Portability is not a huge factor, as I have thought about getting a cheap MacBook down the road if necessary.
I've never purchased a Mac, so this is new territory for me. Any help would be appreciated.
