For which STATES are people not getting charged tax on iTunes Appstore when buying Apps?

And which states are the taxes lowest?

I may be inaccurate about this, but I believe with Internet transactions the tax rate is then determined by the purchasers location, since the transaction typically occurs in the purchaser's property or home address.

No, it apparently is based on the location to which the merchandise is shipped. I'm in Oregon (no sales tax) but have had to pay sales tax on Internet purchases shipped to other states that the seller has a nexus.

You guys have me confused now.

I am only asking about iTunes Apps for iPhone/ iPad that if/ when I purchase, what kind of STATE address is one where no tax is charge by Apples iTunes store.

Is there a list besides Oregon, NH?

Oregon, New Hampshire and others are no sales tax states. In Oregon... they make up for it in income tax.

So its dependent on SHIPPING ADDRESS or BILLING ADDRESS (i.e. CC)?

What about iTunes Appstore for iOS Apps?

Without physical delivery there is no actual shipping address, so the states probably assume shipping = billing. It's just when there is physical delivery that the tax is based on shipping address. And as I stated, that's my experience.

This means that if you somehow got an Oregon address (Credit card to an Oregon address) you would be able to avoid paying sales tax on "electronic delivery" but it wouldn't help you if you were to be buying a new Mac from Apple. They would charge the tax based on the shipping address.

However there is always the chance that Oregon would pursue you for failing to pay Oregon income tax!
