Hey everyone. I’ve been using a 3rd party email app for quite some time (Spark). The Apple Watch has its own unique sound for this app which is different than the notification sound for Messages.

I recently decided to switch back to the stock Mail app and I’ve noticed the notification sound on the watch for it is the same as for Messages. This is super annoying as it makes me think I’ve gotten a text when in reality it’s just an email.

Is there a way to change this?

You can't change the sound, but you could turn off sounds for Mail notifications so that if you get an audible notification you know it must be a text. If you want to still allow Mail on your phone to have audible alerts but not have them on the watch you'll need to turn off "mirror my iPhone" in the notification settings for Mail in the Watch app on your phone, then customise the Mail notification settings for the watch.

Thank you! I actually switched over to Edison mail. It has a different notification sound on the watch, so problem solved. I am also really impressed with it too FWIW.
