I was thinking about going through Sam's Club to get the next iPhone. Has anyone ever done this? have any info on past releases of how soon the iPhone is available there? or should it be available the same as in the Apple Store and/or carrier stores?

The reason I was thinking about going through Sam's is that the Square Trade insurance plan (here) seems excellent. $99 for two years with a $65 deductible. And it includes water damage and repairing a cracked screen.

If your a SAMs plus member they'll give u an extra year free too

Yes, they sell them. On launch day last year, nobody seemed to know if they had phones or not. After waiting around an hour or so, I finally left and went to ATT store... 2nd in line and got phone.

As to Square Trade - pretty sure you can buy that direct from Square Trade.

I knew I could get one through Square trade, I just didn't realize it was the same price. I could have sworn last time I checked, it was more than what Sams had but you're right, it is $5/month. Only difference I see is Square Trade's deductible on their site is $75 vs. $65 from Sams, and that's still cheaper than Verizon.
