I just installed a Samsung 470 in my high end Macbook Pro 2011 and works fine.

What is the final word re the trim enabler? should i use it or isn't it needed for the 470?

It appears for this drive, TRIM isnt needed.

Excellent drive, 470 256gb running with trim enabled. Made my 13" MBP 2010
alive. Worth the upgrade, replaced 320gb WD black. Programs just pop and
no more beach balls.

So far the Samsung 470 SSD has worked flawlessly. Use time about 5 hours daily.

How long have you had it? I am looking into purchasing one.

TRIM wouldn't be of much use for drives that have good garbage collection.
