Amazon has the Samsung 830 256GB model right now on sale for $179.99, the lowest I've seen anywhere. It's even cheaper than the 256GB Crucial m4, which is at ~$192.

Outstanding Price.. perhaps this is a price reduction prior to the 840's being released, to clear some room on the shelves..
Possibly. I thought of getting/waiting for the 840/840 PRO but the speed improvements would be useless for me. I have a mid-2010 MBP and only have SATA II.

Agreed.. as with ANY and ALL Tech Devices, the price will continue to fall until discontinued.. You just gotta decide when it is worthwhile for you to 'jump in'..
As with most things like this, I say Buy It if you think it helps, and then USE IT and be Happy!! ** If you wait there will always be a Better~Faster whatever it is, and may often be Cheaper too..
With my mid-2011 MBP I just upgraded to an aging Crucial 512GB M4 when it fell below $400.. I am VERY happy so far!! 😀

Outstanding deal, Although I've seen 256gb M4s go for as low as 140$, but this is still a great price for a reliable and fast SSD

good price. I found it for $175 2-day shipped from buy.com. Theyre sold out right now, but I think its a good sign that prices are making a move down again 🙂
