It doesn't have the desktop or notebook kit. From what I've heard at least for the MBP you can just plop it in no kit needed. Not sure about that though...
Huh...I might have to jump on this then. I ordered the notebook kit from Amazon, but it hasn't shipped yet. It would nice to save a little money.

You sure? I just looked at their return policy on their website and it says their ssd's are subject to 15% restocking fee. If the size is pretty much the same that makes me feel a little better. I like the fact that owc has 3 year warranty.

The size is the same, and there is no restocking fee in the first 30 days. Special return policy for SSDs.

30-Day Money Back Guarantee for SSDs

If you are not completely satisfied with your OWC Pro 3G or 6G SSD for any reason, simply contact OWC Customer Service within 21 days of your invoice date to request a full refund. No hassle, no restocking fees - that's the OWC Difference.

I bought the KIT for 270 and I am complete happy. But the SAmsung deal is also good, but I don't want to go through the hassle of exchange and backup and so on..

HOW DID THEY SELL OUT? :(

Any chance we can call NewEgg and put in an order for future stock with today's promo?

Well, if you could actually get a hold of them... possibly. I tried the chat but it just get saying "Submitting" for 20 minutes and I just closed out and said, whatever... i'll just wait another month to get it.. probably after mountain lion so I don't have to reinstall 2x. But hey, if you find out... let me know!

Edit: I was kindly pointed to the "While supplies last".

I bought TWO for $189 each! Should have bought a third.

Then after the sale they jacked the price to $374 EACH! Those punks. As of today the price is down to $274. Sure they'll lower again. Newegg claims they buy small quantities and sell them at whatever the wholesale price the manufacturer sells at that day.

I think it's a load of C**P!. I think they shut off the "24 hour sale" when they've hit a certain sales number, or at a certain hour in the day, and make it up with jacked up prices later. I've sen them run out of stock exactly at 6AM on several occasions.

So I hold off for a third Samsung 830 256 SSD for under $200. Nice drive though.
