Starting today through November 28, owners of 2018-2022 Samsung smart TV models worldwide can receive a three-month subscription to Apple TV+ for free.

In an announcement spotted by 9to5Mac, Samsung said eligible customers can redeem this limited time offer by opening the Apple TV app on the Samsung TV home screen and following the on-screen instructions. It's not clear from the press release if the offer is available to existing Apple TV+ subscribers or limited to first-time subscribers.

Roku is also offering three months of Apple TV+ for free on Roku devices starting today, according to a tweet. Fine print says the offer is for new subscribers only.

Apple TV+ is normally priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. The service provides access to Apple's original series and films, ranging from the award-winning comedy series "Ted Lasso" to the hit workplace thriller "Severance."

In my experience, any "X months free Apple TV+" offer/voucher I've ever tried does not work if you've ever subscribed to Apple TV+ previously.

Best Buy Insignia TV gave it too. Unfortunately only new subs. Got hit with a bunch of those. 30 day Tubi trial with the TV too which we already tried so ineligible. And got a Disney+ email for 6mo free UberEats but already had that too. The only good one was the STARZ deal. Couldn't get the $20/6mo deal, but at least they offered $24.99 in its place

Samsung: Buy one of our TV’s with known wifi connectivity issues and we’ll give you a free trial to a product that requires wifi.

Customer: If you throw in a folding phone that will be useless in 8 months…you have a deal!!

I have a 2022 Samsung TV and existing Apple TV subscriber. When I opened the Apple TV app I was required to log in again but had no offer. Safe to assume first time subscribers only.

LG is winning the LG / Samsung / Sony TV wars. Sony is a very close second and if you like the Bravia TVs is interchangeable. Samsung has become the budget line. But at that point Vizio is a better option.
My parents had a Samsung once and it broke down in only months. My mother in law has Vizio and it's good. We still have a Toshibe for almost five years that is still going. The Sharp which is now HiSense we had died after 3 1/2 years. The Insignia we got looks and sounds better than the brand names we have seen.

AppleTV+ stacks. At one point I had a little over 18 months worth. Biggest chunk was 12 months when I bought an iPad Pro (or maybe that was my iPhone, can't remember). Still got about 6 months or something left!

Edit: it seems that some offers with AppleTV+ do NOT stack. I got an offer of 3 months with a purchase and when I went to redeem it, I got all the way to the “redeem” pop-up card but tapping it resulted in an error. Maybe they’ve changed the rules. Who knows.

Interesting. I purchased a Samsung Smart TV back in 2018, but never connected it to our home wifi. I immediately connected the TV to my Apple TV unit. Do I really want to connect my Samsung TV to the internet to get three addition months for free? Probably not.

People are hating on Samsung TVs but they’re fairly decent. Sure I prefer LG but if I had a Samsung I wouldn’t be upset about it. It’s just a selling point where both companies can benefit from it

Maybe it depends on the Terms. The BB promo we got with our TV wouldn't work unless you were new. The one for Apple Card did work once Apple One expired.

I'm not hating on Samsung. I have owned probably 4 and I think have 2 active in my home. They make good TVs, but as tech improved I did research and purchased LG OLEDs over the comparable Samsung because LG and Sony were a tier better than Samsung in that realm. Samsung makes great TVs (DON'T buy their kitchen appliances - especially their Fridges). And I like their products. But my last 2 TVs I bought are LGs (as is my Fridge after the Samsung died) and I think the LG products are better, but you pay a little more.

Samsung's OLED panels are currently better than LG's even if they are at their first generation.
LG isn't winning any war actually and Sony isn't even in the same conversation really.

Vizio is a terrible option. They make nice enough hardware, but they have a team a semi-trained monkeys doing their firmware. They've done firmware updates in the past year that have broken things on a bunch of TVs that you wouldn't imagine could be broken, basic things like volume control and switching inputs. And they left the problem just sitting there for months on end, rather than, say, reverting to the previous working firmware. Their "official" subreddit was awash with complaints, and Vizio was infuriatingly silent about it. I ended up getting rid of a 2 year old Vizio because it was a constant fight to get it to work (my previous TVs lasted about a decade each), and bought an LG. The LG was quite a bit more money, but worth every penny - this display is absolutely gorgeous, and everything works properly.

I tried this on my 2019 Samsung TV. I was told that I was not eligible because I had a previous free trial.

If you knew anything about televisions you would know sony has always been on top because of their motion and picture handling, LG is only better at gaming. But since samsung displays now sells qd-oleds to both samsung and sony the picture quality is second to none. this is coming from an owner of a s95b that was to cheap to buy the sony.

Indeed... every TV from Samsung needs huge calibration. Each device is always way off when it leaves the shop, even the most expensive ones.

They also need a reboot or power cycle every 1-3 days, even the "dumb" models. Every Samsung TV at work and other places simply don't turn on or off by an AppleTV 4K or other device after a short time.
