Even the person on the display of that Samsung cannot believe how overpriced this device is.

They should really fund this product with sales of the other Samsung devices and lower the price. They would sell a lot more just because it looks quite cool and they would have a userbase to test all the new technology.

Apple fanboys hating on Samsung, shocking.

At least someone is trying something that is actually innovative instead of just adding another camera to the back of the phone.
This site is called MacRumors. I suspect most members prefer Apple over Samsung but I could be wrong.

so you're buying on day 1? look forward to your review.

YES! Finally a return of plastic screen protectors hot glued to snap on leather cases. Cause there isn't going to be a graceful way to apply tempered glass or attach snap on hard cases and have it close flush.

But what the heck, people can get a sleeve.

Absolute pointless tat.

There’s a reason that Samsung rush this tat to market, so the people buying it pay for its R&D.

Meanwhile, the same people laugh at the price of Apple products, which are actually quality finished products - not rushed to market.

The world doesn’t need this right now

definitely not. It seems the only real use case is for watching videos una natural landscape wide view or for more content of Maps. Both easily handled by a solid working AR glasses when they debut in feasible design & weight

These ridiculous devices keep flopping and they keep making them?
The audience for them seems to be limited to YouTube vloggers that get them for free. There can’t be any money in that?

Samsung isn’t really loosing money on either fold but it’s a showcase of their screen and hinge technology as an R&D for other projects and devices in the future. That’s it’s only real purpose beyond YouTube content creators.
It’s sad as these devices further push the use of smartphones into consumption dumb phones.

You can imagine my surprise at seeing Apple fangirls criticise anything that Samsung does, so predictable, maybe you’re all Russian bots.

I enjoy seeing new technologies, whether they will be massively popular or not. The hits and misses will help shape the overall tech market.

The fact is that phones now are too big and foldable technology is here to stay. Expect to see this with desktop monitors eventually.

At $1499, they can keep it. I don't plan on buying a phone this year. I have my Note 10+ and a few different older iPhones such as my XS Max, 7+ and I'm still using my 6S+. I started using the 6S+ again a few months ago after I upgraded it to the latest OS and realized it's just as fast as my 7+ and I put a new battery in the 6S+ just before I bought the 7+ so it barely got used.

"Feels good to be first"
Jesus Christ, even a woman understand that to be first is not always good
my first boyfriend was a mess...so he was first but....

No, not directly. But this is how you push ahead and progress technology. These are essentially working prototypes, relative to this specific stage of development of some important technologies. Samsung invests in [relatively] mass production of these in order to gauge interest, assess robustness of certain technologies, test market readiness, etc. Just a different concept. Apple invests in R&D behind closed doors, waits it out and lets everyone else make initial mistakes, then comes up with a product that they deem as "ready" on all levels. They try not to put something out there that isn't ready for market, or the market isn't ready for it. Samsung has a different strategy. Theirs is "we throw lots of different things at the public and see what sticks". They are probably fine with things failing/flopping - those failures give them plenty of data to analyze and support their future decision making. It's an investment. The fact they, as a result of these efforts, come up with a final product that you (or someone else) may not like is an entirely different conversation. A big part of it is also the Google ecosystem, too. I personally would have loved to give Samsung phones a go because i love playing with new gadgets and honestly think there is a lot to love about them. However, I am already well invested in the Apple ecosystem and therefore am "stuck" with iPhones. Which I also happen to love and appreciate, so no harm done.

Tons of hate. I think it is pretty awesome, and a good way to combine size/compact. Phones are virtually rectangle slaps, and kudos to Samsung for thinking outside the box.
and I'm sure you will be first in the long line to get one

so, if I read this correctly, Samsung charges an extra ~ $70 to add 5G ... what will Apple charge? will be interesting
