Yeah, I tried t-mo a couple years ago and it’s a no go for me. First they never honored the bogo at the time and charged me for the second device, and there service was ok but still ran into service problems here at my house. No carrier has good service here.

And for plans, it would still be more expensive. I have 9 phone lines, 1 home phone line, 1 watch line, 1 ipad line, direct tv service (plus all Spanish channels), free HBO, everything unlimited plus 10gb tethering for $390 before taxes. The only carrier that comes close in price is Sprint.

One benefit of unlocked model is working hotspot without requiring hotspot plan. As for WIFI calling, a lot of people have switched to Hangouts with Google Voice account(s) to be carrier free for calling/SMS/MMS.

Will be good to hear some real life battery tests.

Conflicting results on the net at the moment, Engadget say it's not as good as you'd hope, and also say 1080p vs 1440p gives them a 3 hour battery life difference on their tests.

The Verge just seemed to ignore battery in their written review.

GSMArena say it's great for video, but not as great for web in their tests.

That’s weird. I preferred the Samsung photos in almost every case with the obvious exception of the photo of the man and the woman, in which I thought the Pixel did a flawless job and really made the guy’s black shirt “pop”.

One thing I know my S9+ can do that my 3XL and iPhone XR can’t, is take the best photos of the full moon over the ocean at night. The 3XL and iPhone usually render a noisy mess. The S9+ gets a beautiful shot. Not quite what the human eye sees, but a decent reproduction with room for improvement.

I like indoor scenes of pets and people with the 3XL and iPhone. Sammy insists on making people too filtered looking.

It is interesting. I was looking back through my Google Photos and I noticed that I took a lot of stunning shots with my S10+ when I had it and my only complaint was shots of people. Sometimes they'd come out looking dull. At the same time, I never really did a lot with photo editing when I had the S10, so I may be able to touch them up.

I still think that the Pixel line is by far the best point and shoot phone there is, but when looking back there wasn't THAT crazy of a difference between all the 120 phones I've owned this year.

It was! I had the rarer GT-I9506 with the specs from the Note III. I remember modding the system to add languages, remove the stupid limitations on the then very crippled Australian firmware, and bring in the camera app from the Note III. Too bad it got water damaged after I lent it to a friend.

Well, Samsung shouldn’t feel too bad because the Pixel pretty much wipes the floor with everyone. I did my best to ignore the notations and can’t say that I disagree with Tom’s Guides assessment either. In fact, I think I preferred the Pixel in every shot—not a fan of the color temp Samsung’s shots have. And I’m not knocking Sammy because I’d conclude pretty much the same thing in a Pixel vs. iPhone XS comparison.

Really curious to see what the Pixel 4 brings to the table.

Headphone jacks, I was over them being removed 2 years ago.

Marques doesn’t seem too thrilled with the phone though he’s always been more of a Pixel guy.

Anyone who has received their Note 10/10+ see support for 'aptX Adaptive' (not aptX, aptX HD or aptX LL which are older) in the settings which is the new Qualcomm low latency/hires audio codec which somewhat justifies removal of audio jack?

Yes the screen seems much bigger compared to the physical size difference, probably in-part due to the squarer corners

Although I picked it up this morning and muscle memory told be it was larger phone

My wife has gone from an S8 to my old S10+ which is a big difference, but I changed her icon grid size so they do not look like the hulk size ones on a Ipad LOL

Battery will need to be watched, like you seeing mixed results. Will need a few days to see on mine.

I have to say, the battery has been pretty solid on my first full day of use (I only had a half day's use yesterday). 10 hours of talk time coupled with 4 hours of screen time, and getting 14.5 hours of battery (with 7% remaining) is pretty good.

-WQHD selected
-Adaptive Power saving on
-I have wifi set to turn on and off automatically
-Bluetooth on (and in use the majority of the day)
-Link with Windows on
-Live wallpaper
-AOD on
-2 email accounts on push
-Screen brightness on auto
